A Streamlabs donation overlay that does more than a banner
You already take tips through Streamlabs. This turns each one into something that happens on stream — your VTube Studio model reacts, objects fly at it, or your subathon clock jumps.
How it works
Vplank listens to your Streamlabs socket, the same feed the Streamlabs alert box uses. Money never passes through Vplank: it lands in your Streamlabs account exactly as it does today, and we only see the notification that it happened.
You can keep your existing Streamlabs alert box running. The two do not fight — one shows the alert, the other makes your avatar move.
Set it up
- Copy your socket API tokenStreamlabs dashboard → Settings → API Settings → API Tokens → Your Socket API Token. Copy it.
- Paste it into VplankDashboard → Connections → Streamlabs. Paste the token and save. The badge turns green when the socket connects.
- Pick what a tip doesChoose a tool: reaction tiers on your VTube Studio model, objects thrown at your avatar, or a subathon clock that extends.
- Add the overlay to OBSCopy the overlay URL into an OBS browser source at 1920×1080 and put it above your model.
- Send a test tipThe dashboard has a test button that fires a fake donation so you can see the whole path work before you go live.
Questions
Does Vplank take a cut of my tips?
No. Tips go straight to your own Streamlabs account. Vplank never touches the money — Pro is the only thing you ever pay us for.
Do I have to drop my Streamlabs alerts?
No. Keep them. Vplank reacts to the same tip in a different way, and both can be on screen at once.
How fast is it?
The socket is push, not polling, so the reaction starts about as fast as your Streamlabs alert does.
